Our Dallas stilt walkers are a popular during the holidays and our most beloved Dallas stilt walker is Tall Paul. Paul has a great fan base and people love interacting with many of his stilt characters. During the holidays, Paul is a toy soldier. He has actually developed a large TEAM of toy soldiers with a distinct look for events around the metroplex. These toy soldiers are one of the signature offerings here at DFW Christmas.
Tall Paul’s toy soldier is unique, though. For years, Tall Paul has been entertaining crowds at the beautiful Gaylord Texan Resort. Each year, several families will search for him at the Gaylord Texan in order to re-create photos from previous years! Tall Paul has become an integral part of many family traditions during the holiday season.
This year, one little guy (pictured above) was eager to show Tall Paul his Halloween costume. He told his mom that he wanted to be a toy soldier “just like Tall Paul” for Halloween. So, after the Halloween season had past, and the Gaylord winter season began – Paul’s little friend was eager to show Tall Paul his costume. This mini-toy soldier proudly walked through the Gaylord with Tall Paul, and if you check out the Tall Paul Facebook page, you can even see the two of them “flossing” together. One of the best moments of the day was when Tall Paul bent down to put red cheek makeup on his little soldier friend and let him wear one of his official toy soldier hats!
It means so much to Paul and the DFW Christmas team to know that we are a part of fun Christmas memories. Paul would tell you he is honored and humbled to be part of such a special time.
